Pride in Aging Quality Care for LGBTQ+ Older Adults

Two-Day Seminar

Join Pride in Aging RI for a two‑day professional development program designed to strengthen culturally responsive care for LGBTQ+ older adults.

LGBTQ+ older adults deserve care environments where they feel seen, respected, and safe. This two‑day program equips healthcare professionals, advocates, and organizational leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to create affirming, culturally responsive spaces for LGBTQ+ people ages 50 and older. Participants may attend Day 1 only or complete both days to become certified trainers of the curriculum.

Day 1 offers a comprehensive training for healthcare and advocacy professionals, focusing on the unique experiences, needs, and barriers faced by LGBTQ+ elders—and the practical steps organizations can take to create welcoming, affirming environments.

Day 2 provides a full Train‑the‑Trainer certification, equipping participants to deliver the Day 1 curriculum within their own agencies, networks, and communities.

This program is ideal for providers, long‑term care staff, social workers, community health workers, educators, and DEI leaders committed to improving care for LGBTQ+ older adults.

Continuing education for nurses, social workers, administrators, activity professionals, physical therapists, occupation therapists, and speech and language pathologists pending. (6 CEs for day 1 and 6 CEs for day 2)
